Would highly recommend this trip down the Sante Fe river. John was very kind and helpful at explaining the route and the different spots at springs. We took a two-seater kayak and did the shorter 7 mile trip on a Saturday- a pleasant amount of people on the river, not too many. We had times where we were the only ones in sight.The river itself is a slow-moving, relaxing stretch of water. We saw many turtles bathing in the sun and even a heron catching a fish.

Bring a cooler and plenty of water. You can pack a lunch, there are picnic benches at various spots along the trip. The kayaks have ample space for storage, but the one we took had no waterproof compartments.

The launch location is right on the river, and they pick you and your equipment up at the end of the trip and bring you back. I appreciated that they asked us to bring our garbage back in a bag so that it could be properly recycle/discarded.

All in all, an awesome day on the water!
